Hi, Howard and Barbara.

Hope you are both doing very well. Howard, I finally got some time to pick up the proof copy of your book that Russ is in the middle of reading, and I absolutely could not put it down until I finished it. I began reading it Saturday afternoon and there was no way I could stop.

Russ and I had already heard the NPR piece -- which was wonderful. But there was so much more in the book that people need to know. The most heart-rending section for me was the time you spent at Agnew. It's incredible that this could actually happen to a normal kid in California simply because no one had a place for him. I'm amazed how you've endured it all. I love your forgiveness of everyone, your reconciliation with your Dad, and your loving tribute to Barbara.

Barbara, I hope you are doing very well. I would love to see you again soon. Your Dad tells me about his breakfasts with you, and I'm a little envious because I only get to see you about once a year. Would you and Howard be able to have dinner with us this summer? I'm going to see my Mama in Tennessee the end of this month, but will be back the second week of July. Let us know when you could get together.
